Until last night, Ronald Araujo was close to leaving Barcelona. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, instructed the sporting director, Deco, to convince the centre-back to stay by all means. The Portuguese reportedly talked with Araujo and guaranteed him a contract extension with enhanced conditions, which the player couldn't refuse.
