Brewers reclaim league leadership following a 4-0 thumping of their hosts.

A dominant 4-0 display against relegation threatened Vihiga United in Mumias Complex saw Tusker get back to winning ways after three consecutive draws in the FKF Premier League.

With Tusker grabbing the three points and AFC Leopards stuttering against league debutants Bidco United after losing 3-1, the Robert Matano led side ascended to the top of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League once more after slipping to third on the log.

Tusker came into the game knowing very well that their was little room for them to make any errors in the game. They started the day third on the log after relinquishing top spot with consecutive draws since the league's resumption and anything other than a win would pile more pressure on them, a situation they would not love to be in with only one month left to determine who represents the country in the CAF Champions League tourney.

And the Brewers started the game just as they would have dreamt of. Teenage sensation Henry Meja, after experiencing a five game goal drought, finally ended the dry patch with the game's opening goal just five minutes into the match.

Tusker continued heaping more pressure as they pinned the county side in their own half but strikes from Meja and Boniface Muchiri did not cause any meaningful trouble. Meja's headed attempt went off target in the 14th minute while Muchiri's long ranger was punched out for a corner in the 17th minute.

Muchiri almost found Tusker's second in the 22nd minute after finding himself one on one with Mustapha Oduor but Vihiga the keeper thwarted that attempt as he punched it out for a corner to spare his team's blushes.

Seven minutes to later, Oduor could not do anything to keep out Tusker once more in Mumias. Kevin Okoth's well struck shot beat the keeper as it found its way into the back of the net after being fed by Humprey Mieno to double Tusker's lead going into the half time interval, the perfect 45 minutes for the 2012 Kenyan champions.

Upon second half resuming, Vihiga captain Luvanda Lawrence took matters into his own hands when he unleashed a thunderbolt outside the area in the 49th minute, but an alert Michael Wanjala in the Tusker goal stretched to push the ball out for a corner to maintains Tusker's cushion.

In the 55th minute, Tusker got back in control of things as Christopher Ochieng volleyed in the third for the Robert Matano side to put the game out of Vihiga's reach. The Brewers were not done just yet. Defender Rodgers Aloro addded the fourth goal after converting a spot kick awarded to Tusker in the 90+8th minute. Following that heavy thrashing, Vihiga stayed in 16th place on the log on 12 points.
