The two midfielders registered mixed results for their respective teams.
Kenyan midfielders Tyler Onyango and Amos Nondi featured for Burton Albion and Dila Gori respectively and managed to avoid defeat in England and Georgia.
Tyler Onyango
The Kenyan midfielder was trusted with a start as Burton Albion settled for a 1-1 draw with Milton Keynes Dons in the English League One.
Burton had a bright start to the game and were finally rewarded for their efforts a minute before the half hour mark when Victor Adeboyejo held his nerve to convert a penalty and hand his side the line.
MK Don's were forced into a first half substitution in the 37th minute when Louie Barry went down with an injury as Darragh Burns was brought in his place.
Burton were chasing shadows in the second half which pushed Onyango into getting a yellow card in the 64th minute as he was withdrawn three minutes later for Ciaran Gilligan.
MK Dons finally got their equalizer six minutes from time when Dawson Devoy set up Bradley Johnson to fire home as they settled for a point.
Amos Nondi
The former Gor Mahia midfielder was a second half substitute as his Dila Gori side claimed an emphatic 3-0 win over Samgurali in the Georgian National League.
Tornike Kapanadze opened the scoring for Dila in the 31st minute as they went into the half break with a slender 1-0 lead.
Nondi was introduced in the 64th minute for Yury Batyushin as doubled their lead in the five minutes later with Jean Victor Goncalves supplying the assist.
Dila fortified their lead at the stroke of the 90th minute through Nugzar Spanderashvili as they moved into the top three bracket.
