Vihiga say Ulinzi were lucky after defeat in Nakuru

Vihiga Bullets head coach Juma Abdalla believes that Ulinzi Stars were fortunate to beat his side in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match that was staged at the ASK Grounds in Nakuru on Saturday afternoon.

The Soldiers condemned the newbies to their eighth defeat of the season in ten games played so far and Juma's charges now remain deeply rooted at the bottom of the standings with just two points.

On Saturday, goals from Oscar Wamalwa and Bernard Ongoma helped Ulinzi end their four-match winless run with a triumph over Bullets but Juma saw a lot of positives in the game and believes that they were just unlucky.

"This is my fourth match and although I am yet to record my first victory with the team, I’m happy there is constructive football since I arrived. The team has improved. The team is now playing good football. Sometimes football is about luck and today luck was not on our side,” said Juma.

In an earlier interview, the former Western Stima head coach admitted that he needs to recruit well in the mid-season transfer window and believes it is too soon to label them relegation candidates.

"We believe we need to rope in a couple of experienced players, who we have already identified although we will only avail the names after the deal in finalised.

One thing I know is that it's still very early to brand us, relegation candidates. We are doing our best to evade this situation, " he remarked.

Next for them is a home match against Sofapaka.
