The Brazilian had nothing but praise for the phenomenal Spanish international
Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr has offered huge praise to Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal ahead of the upcoming World Cup, admitting the Spanish teenager has the ability to decide the tournament almost by himself.
Even with the historic rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona, the Brazilian forward had no hesitation in applauding Yamal’s remarkable talent. In an interview with Caze TV, Vinicius spoke highly of the young winger and emphasized just how dangerous he believes he can be on the biggest stage.
He said: "Spain have Lamine Yamal, who is one of the best players in the world. He does incredible things on the pitch. He is a player who can win the World Cup single-handedly. He is one of those players you pay to watch play."
Yamal has rapidly become one of the standout names in world football. After finishing second in the 2025 Ballon d'Or voting, the Barcelona sensation continues to impress with numbers rarely seen from a player his age. In 151 appearances for the Catalan giants, he has already produced 49 goals and 52 assists.
The youngster has taken things to another level this season, recording 24 goals and 18 assists in 45 games across all competitions. Alongside winning three La Liga titles, he has also established himself as a key player for Spain, earning 25 international appearances and helping his country lift the 2024 European Championship trophy. Since making his debut in September 2023, Yamal has scored six goals for the national team.
At the moment, the winger is focused on recovering from injury in time for the World Cup, where he is expected to be one of Spain’s main stars.
Meanwhile, despite Real Madrid enduring a difficult domestic campaign, Vinicius has continued to deliver at the highest level. The Brazilian attacker, who won FIFA’s Best Men’s Player award in 2024, has accumulated 128 goals and 100 assists in 375 matches for Los Blancos.
During the 2025-26 season, Vinicius registered 22 goals and 14 assists in 53 appearances, once again proving himself as one of the club’s most decisive players. With two Champions League trophies and three league titles already in his collection, he is set to lead Brazil’s attack at the World Cup this summer.
