The aggregate winner will earn a place in next season's FKFPL

All eyes will this afternoon be fixed at Muhoroni Stadium, Muhoroni town as Wazito FC hosts Migori Youth FC in the final leg of the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) playoffs with stakes sky high.

Having settled for a scoreless draw in the leg played at Migori Stadium last weekend, the duel will now have to be settled in Muhoroni with the aggregate winner booking a slot in the next season's FKFPL.

While hosts Wazito FC are banking on home support to propel them to victory, Migori Youth, who failed to capitalize on the same advantage, are happy that they did not concede, and can build on in away from home.

"We're in a familiar territory," Wazito coach Charles Odera told Mozzart Sport. "We expect to play our game as we usually do at home. We know this pitch very well."

Odera, formerly of APS Bomet FC, is counting on their passionate fans to cheer them to victory. "They never gave up on us the entire season, I believe they won't abandon us. We need their support."

Careful not to be caught up in the ongoing anti-government demos, Migori Youth shifted their base to Katito, just a stone throw away from Muhoroni are expected to make the final short trip on Saturday.

"We've had a good preparation and I'm convinced we can finish the job in Muhoroni," Migori Youth coach Kevin Oluoch said.

"That we did not concede is a positive and we intend to keep it clean even as we go for goals," he added.

All arrangements for the match are complete with the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) working closely with both teams to ensure all goes well.

‘’We didn’t concede a goal and that’s a positive sign. Even if we ourselves never score, we can do that at home very easily. So we will try to keep them at bay then find a goal or two,’’ Wazito full back Clintom Bulimo said, building up to the game. "I think we have seen everything in the top flight this season. As a team we have struggled and yet produce some good results against top teams in the division. We will bank on that premier league experience when we take on Migori who are equally good.

"Our very good home support is healthy for the game and that’s another reason why we want to give them another year of premier league football by winning today’s match.’’

Security is expected to he heightened in and around the stadium.

Youth booked a place in the playoffs by virtue of finishing third in the National Super League (NSL), while Wazito FC found themselves needed to play in the playoffs after finishing third from bottom in the FKFPL.
