The attacking midfielder joined the second tier outfit after leaving Stima last year

Kibera Black Stars winger Richdonald Bolo has revealed that he rejected a move to the 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions Sofapaka for the second-tier outfit as he sought to satisfy his urge for regular playing time.

Bolo was supposed to join Sofapaka before the start of the season alongside Geoffrey Ojunga but the former strayed on the way and joined Kibera who recruited heavily after nailing down shirt partners last year.

Batoto Ba Mungu had camped at Kisumu last year to capture the best from Western Stima who had been relegated from the top-tier and consequently, lost nearly all their players.

The two youngsters alongside Rodgers Ouma who decamped to Tusker were among the shining stars at Stima in the otherwise dark season that saw them go under and ultimately, sunk into oblivion.

Bolo, a Gor Mahia Youth product said he was assured of playing time at Kibera after failing to play regularly in the last season that had intermittent breaks occasioned by government orders.

"I had offers from Kibera and Sofapaka but chose the latter because I felt I needed a platform where I would play weekend in weekend out. I didn't play as much as I needed last season and in the interest of my development, I had to choose wisely. I believe I will be fully ready for top flight football by the end of the season, " he said.

With Kibera hovering four places outside the promotion bracket, the former national U20 pledged to bang in more goals and aid the Paul Ogai coached side to the top flight.

Bolo who can play as a full back and as an attacker has a goal and a couple of assists against his name with just a round remaining to the conclusion of the first leg.
