Mathare Women will be the other team in action on resumption day as they take on soldiers Ulinzi Starlets. Mathare finished the first leg of the 2020/21 WPL season without a win and managed to pick their first point and first win in the second leg with a draw and a win in their first two matches of the second leg. Makolanders, however, subjected the side to their eighth loss of the season in their last league match.
The released fixture indicates that the league will go on a three-week break after the May 30 fixtures, making a return on June 19 for the two remaining rounds set to be played on June 19 and 23 to determine the playoff entrants.
With the league having reverted to the zonal format in 2020, the top three teams in each zone head to a playoff, with the top team in each zone given a bye to the second round of playoffs.
In round one scheduled for June 27, zone A’s second-place finisher will take on the third team from zone B while zone B’s runner up takes on zone A’s third-placed team. The winner of the first encounter will play the winner from zone B while zone A leaders face off with the second match winners. The round two(semis) matches will be played on June 30. The final is set for July 3.
