Madira headed into the match having secured two wins, a draw and a loss in their opening four matches of the season, which left them in fifth place on the log standings with seven points.
Kisped, on the other hand, had suffered defeat in all four matches of the season and were at the bottom of the league table.
Buoyed by the home support, Madira started the match on a high, dominating the early stages of the match, but Junior Starlets midfielder Lindey Weey could not convert a golden chance in the 15th minute.
Three minutes later, Weey took a free kick that Velma Awuor guided into the back of the net, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on the goalkeeper.
Seven minutes later, Leah Nekesa took a shot at goal, but her effort went over the bar as Madira kept on pushing for the opener.
As half-time approached, Madira broke the deadlock in the 45th minute through Nekesa, a lead that they took to the break.
In the second half, Madira picked up where they left off as Brenda Awuor unleashed a ferocious shot in the 51st minute that was parried away for a corner.
As the half progressed, Kisped kept growing into the match, seeing more of the ball and exchanging quick passes in midfield.
Kisped would get a lifeline in the 70th minute when Laura Atsabina’s strike found the back of the net to draw the Kisumu-based side level.
The lakeside club would then hold firm and defend their goal with their dear lives until the final whistle, thus securing their first point of the season.
The point in turn moved Kisped a place up the table, leapfrogging neighbours Kisumu All Starlets due to a superior goal difference.
