1984 Olympics bronze medalist Ibrahim 'Surf' Bilali was notably elected to be an Executive Committee member
Anthony 'Jamal' Otieno Ombok retained his seat as Boxing Federation of Kenya (BFK) President during the weekend national elections at Kasarani, which also saw 12 candidates elected unopposed.
Otieno, who was elected for his first term in 2019, emerged the winner unposed, and will consequently, steer Kenyan amateur boxing for another four-year term.

A total of 32 county associations were involved in the elective process, each sending three delegates - for a total of 96 who elected the new leadership.
Laikipia's Lydia Kinyua moved from her assistant treasurer position to be elected as BFK's 1st Vice President, while Chrispine Onyango, formerly an assistant secretary, was voted as the new 2nd Vice President.
Kenya Police head coach David Munuhe retained his position of secretary general, as did national team coach Musa Benjamin, who took back his treasurer position.
Committee Member Joseph Ochieng, meanwhile, went up to be elected as the new assistant secretary, with another ExCo member Gladys Musavi taking up the assistant treasurer seat.
John Waweru on the other hand retained his competition secretary position, with Joselyn Maare from Meru becoming his assistant.
In perhaps the biggest news, 1984 Olympics bronze medalist Ibrahim 'Surf' Bilali was elected an Executive Committee member, joining Kajiado's Moses Kamalik and Kisumu's Dominic Opiyo.

Ombok, who is also the Africa Zone Three Boxing President, highlighted Ndondi Mashinani and local coaches' training programs as his biggest successes from his first term, while promising more opportunities for boxers this time round.
Last year, BFK helped several local coaches join two training programs organized by the International Boxing Association (IBA), with eight of them earning IBA 1 Star certification.
To further sharpen Kenyan boxers, Ombok plans to stage 'Champions Night' in the country, which would bring together the best pugilists locally and internationally.
The elective assembly was witnessed by Sports Registrar Rose Wasike, and Kenya National Sports Council Administrative Secretary James Akama.
