CAVB: Two Kenyan clubs book place in semis

Egyptian sides Al Ahly and Zamalek lie in wait for Pipeline and KCB respectively
Kenyan volleyball sides Kenya Pipeline and Kenya Commercial Bank have booked their places into the semifinals of the 37th women’s African Volleyball Club Championship after securing quarter-final wins on Wednesday in Cairo.
2022 champions KCB, drawn against fellow Kenyan representatives Kenya Prisons, recorded a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-17) win in Hall 1, to get themselves to the last four, and two matches closer to reclaiming their crown.

Kenya Pipeline, on the other hand, secured a similar margin of victory over Cameroonian side Litto Team Volley (LTV) winning 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-25) to become the second Kenyan side to feature in the final four.
As per the tournament draw, KCB will face defending champions Zamalek (Egypt) after they defeated Cameroonian side Mayo Kani 3-0 (25-13, 25-17, 26-24).
On the other side of the draw, Pipeline, under the tutelage of former Kenyan international Esther Jepkosgei, will face another Egyptian side - Al Ahly - following their 3-0 win over Ethiopian side National Alcohol Factory.
On their way to the semis, Kenya Comercial Bank (KCB) got the better of ASEC of Ivory Coast in straight sets of 3-0 (25-06, 25-18, 25-13) to qualify for the last eight, while Kenya Pipeline booked their slot after topping group C unbeaten with nine points.
They were given a bye since pool A had only three teams.
Their wins there were against Mayo Kani Evolution (Cameroon), Customs (Nigeria) and Saint Denis Olympique Volley (Reunion Islands).
