Action throws off on Saturday 22 January. The regular league ended in December.

Kenya Basketball Federation (KBF) women's league 2019 semi finalists University of Nairobi (UoN) Dynamites have their work cut out ahead of the league playoffs set to throw off on Saturday 22 January.

The Juma Kent-coached side are up against rivals Storms, the latter having finished the league in fifth place while the varsity side were fourth.

Ahead of the best-of-three quarters, Kent could miss the services of seven players who are engaged with school work and others away on internships.

"We began training proper this week since the players just got back to school from the holiday. Some are yet to settle in school and that is affecting our training sessions. Fitness is also an issue since they are coming from a relatively long break that also involved the festivities.

All in all, I have to work with the available squad, however lean, to give our best in the playoffs. It will be a tough encounter but we are doing our best to be ready and see that those who can make it show for the matches," said Kent.

The tactician is likely to miss three of starting five players in Shalon Gaceri, Triza Akeyo and Winnie Chebet, a trio that has been instrumental in propelling the side to a fourth-place finish in the regular season.

"Akeyo is on attachment and her availability over the weekend is still in doubt while the other two are held up with examinations. Four more players might miss due to exams too leaving me without many options on the bench," explained Kent.

In the regular season, it was a 50/50 encounter between the two sides as Dynamites won the first leg by 18 points bit the tables turned in the repeat leg with the Abel Nson-coached Storms getting a 13-point win.

The winner of the first leg will have a chance to compete the job and book a slot into the best-of-five semi finals on Sunday 30 January. In the event
