After a week-long break, the Kenya Hockey Union leagues resume this weekend with eight matches on the cards on Saturday.
The competitions took a break last weekend to pave way for the Burhani/Jericho Hockey Festival organized by the Mombasa County Hockey Association.
The clash pitting the entrepresing Western Jaguars and USIU-A Mashujaa in the men's Premier League set for City Park Stadium is the highlight match of the day.
Jaguars, are brimming in confidence after once again, playing the high-flying and unbeaten league toppers Butali Warriors 2-2 in their last outing played earlier in the month.
The Kakamega based club held Butali to another draw in the first leg and will be looking to build on the confidence derived from their clash against the sugarmen and humble Mashujaa.
Mashujaa are placed seventh on the log with seven points while Jaguars sit third with seventeen points, seven off former champions Kenya Police who are second and thirteen shy of Butali.
In the women's Premier League, USIU-A Spartans will clash with the bottom placed Amira Sailors at City Park.
The students are ranked fourth with seven points, three ahead of their match day opponents who will be hoping to claim maximum points and scale up on the log.
The Kenyatta University team will tackle Vikings in the women's Super League while Parkroad Tigers have a date with the Technical University team in the men's category.
Four nationwide matches are also set to be played in the day with the Strathmore University grounds hosting a double header.
