The foundation has spread its wings to over 17 participating countries across Africa, building 25 courts and holding over 5,000 camps.

Giants of Africa, a not-for-profit foundation geared towards inspiring African youths through basketball, announced today that they will be unveiling three basketball courts in Nairobi, Kenya. The announcement is part of the continuation of the ‘Built Within’ initiative aimed at the organization’s multi-year commitment to building and investing in 100 sports infrastructure within Africa.

The three courts include: Dagoretti High School, Divine Word Parish (DIWOPA - Kayole) and Umoja 2 Estate basketball courts. The first two unveilings will take place on Friday, January 20 2023, with the latter set for Sunday, January 22.

The three courts will supplement the already existing GOA courts in Kenya – St. John Primary Catholic School (Korogocho), Samburu Girls Foundation and Sauti Kuu Foundation Sports, Resource and Vocational Training Centre – unveiled during Former US President Barack Obama’s trip to Kenya in 2018.

Led by Co-Founder and President of the Toronto Raptors, who is also the first and only African-born NBA President, Masai Ujiri, Giants of Africa has made a great impact to African youths in under-privileged communities, not only by developing infrastructure where youths converge, but by also empowering them to ‘Dream Big’ and become future leaders in Africa.

Since its inception in 2003, the foundation has spread its wings to over 17 participating countries across Africa, building 25 courts and holding over 5,000 camps.

Since 2021, GOA has built a total of 20 plus courts in Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Rwanda, Senegal and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The unveilings, which will be attended by Nairobi county Governor Johnson Sakaja, are sponsored by Kensington Tours and will be followed by a series of community basketball clinics conducted by NBA Giants of Africa coaches.
