This is the highlight match of Mashujaa Day action

Kenya Handball Federation (KHF) leagues continue on Thursday 20 October with organisers taking advantage if the Mashujaa Day celebrations to have six matches played at the Nyayo Handball Court.

The highlight match of the day is easily the clash between General Service Unit (GSU) and Black Mamba, with the latter looking to continue their unbeaten streak since going down to 23-17 to Ulinzi on 11 September.

On their part, GSU bounced back to winning ways last weekend, picking maximum points against Rangers and University of Eldoret (UoE) to make it eight wins in ten matches.

"We have been training at Nyayo this week and the team is ready for the task ahead. Mamba is a strong side but the players have vowed to fight for a win, seeing as we lost to the former champions last season.

We have a few injuries, but nothing we cannot manage. The depth of our squad also allows the team to work through such issues with ease," offered Gabriel Otwane

Mamba, who are looking to dethrone National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) at the conclusion of the regular season have their work cut out against a resilient GSU side that is also eyeing a maiden title.

In other matches, Strathmore are back in action since the last weekend of September. The Peter Mwathi-coached side plays Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in their 11th match of the season.

Mwathi's charges have lost twice, to holders NCPB and a surprise defeat to school boys Inspired, defeats that put a dent to their title hopes as the top two teams remain unbeaten.

Inspired take on Spartans in the other men's league matches as the Hospital Hill-drawn side hopes for a fourth victory. Spartans are still chasing a maiden win in the league.

In the women's league Daystar Falcons will be on the court twice, first at 9am against New Hope and back again at noon to face off with Kenyatta University Vampires.

The other women's match features JKUAT against Rising Star.
