GSU, Prisons clash highlights KVF men's league second leg

Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) men’s league action returns next month for the second leg with 24 matches on the cards across three days.

After the first leg held in Mosoriot, teams are back indoors with the matches set for Friday 10 to Sunday 12 February moved from Makande Hall in Mombasa as initially planned, to Nyayo in Nairobi.

Sports organizing secretary Ismail Chege has released the fixtures for the second leg that will see all men’s teams play at least two matches across the three days.

Holders General Service Unit (GSU) open their second leg action with a clash against former champions and arch-rivals Prisons Kenya in easily the highlight match of the opening day.

The Gideon Tarus-led paramilitary side are on a mission to bag a sixth-consecutive title at the conclusion of the 2022/23 season while Prisons, under coach David Lugh’aho are in a fight to reclaim lost glory after finishing fourth in last season’s playoffs.

Friday’s action gets underway with a clash between Equity Bank and Prisons Western as well as Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) up against Prisons Central. The Mobasa-based side will be opening their season as their first leg clash was postponed.

Meanwhile, Trailblazers, in their second season in the top tier league, are set to play Administration Police (AP) Kenya in their opening clash of the second leg before facing off with GSU on Saturday.
