Two teams from Uganda and Rwanda have registered for the men's competition.
The Paul Bitok-organised Eldoret City volleyball tournament in its inaugural edition has attracted over 40 teams so far.
Registration for the event set for 3 and 4 December at Eldoret Sports Club opened on 21 November with a majority of the top tier clubs signing up for the main category of the competition.
While most league teams, especially in the men's category are using the event as part of their pre-season, organisers that also include the South Rift branch and Keino Sports Events are looking to see the sport grow in the grassroots.
Draws and poolings are set to be done on the 2 December at Starbuck Hotel in Eldoret.
"Only the teams that shall have confirmed their participation into the tournament by Wednesday 2 December will be in for the draws," Bitok confirms adding that preparations are in the final stages.
