The Kenyan side is hoping to bag one of the two slots up for grabs in the Group D qualifiers
In a must-win match against Madagascar's GNBC, Nairobi City Thunder will miss their floor general William Sydney Davis II (Will) who picked an injury in their 89-88 loss to Urunani.
The American has been one of the Kenyan champions leaders on the court, scoring 26 in the opening match against Beau Vallon Heat and 17 points before he got injured against Urunani.
The five-team Road to BAL (Basketball Africa League) East Division Group D qualifiers will see two sides qualify for the Elite 16 Phase, tentatively set for 12 November in Johannesburg.
In his absence, Fidel Okoth stepped up to cover for him, and he will be called upon once more, alongside Ariel Okall and James Mwangi.
"This is a must-win game for us and we have to play well. Yesterday's loss is behind us and we have to focus on the remaining matches. GNBC are a good side do I hope we make better decisions for victory," skipper Tylor Ongwae offered.
The Bradley Ibs- coached side go into the clash on a 1-1 ratio and are up against a Madagascar side that has won their opening two matches. They won their first match 89-72 before making a comeback against Seychelles' Beau Vallon Heat for a 98-72 victory.
"It has been a good run for us but we are well aware of the challenge ahead against Thunder. We will hope to have a good start as the focus is to keep the unbeaten run going," GNBC skipper Elly Randriamampionona told Mozzart Sport.
