Kakamega 7s: KCB land tricky Homeboyz as Oilers face Monks in Main Cup quarterfinal pairings

Overall 7s defending champions KCB will have to put their best foot foward on Sunday morning in the season ending Kakamega 7s tournament being played at the Bull Ring Arena following the main cup quarter final pairings.

In the draw made after the successful conclusion of day one matches, the Bankers, who currently sit in second place on the log on 90 points, four behind leaders Menengai Oilers, were paired against a bogey Homeboyz side that is capable of causing an upset to a KCB side looking to defend their title.

KCB spank Kabras in epic thriller to top pool D

Homeboyz, the Dala 7s champions, landed KCB after finishing second in pool C behind a resplendent Nakuru who won all three of their group matches.

Oilers, who only need to reach the main cup final if KCB win the tournament in order to clinch the 2022 crown, were handed a favourable clash against Catholic Monks who placed behind Strathmore Leos in Pool B.

Leos will battle against Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in the third quarter final clash while Nakuru face Kabras Sugar in the final quarter.

The remaining eight teams who did not make the quarter final spots will also fight it out in the Challenge Trophy.
