Relegation threatened Top Fry Nakuru and Impala Saracens pulled off vital wins to secure their status

The most decorated club in the country Nondescript RFC and ten time champions Resolution Impala Saracens have been relegated from the top flight Kenya Cup after a dramatic final day of the 2021/2022 season.

Nondies, who have amassed 17 titles to their name, went down 13-7 to Homeboyz in a closely contested encounter played at the Jamhuri Park in Saturday afternoon.

Prior to the clash, both sides still had a fighting chance in terms of maintaining their top flight status as they had fate solely on their own hands.

On the day though, a dogged performance saw the Deejayz just pull through as they condemned Nondies to the Kenya Rugby Union Championship league next season after they finished bottom of the pile on 16 points.

In the relegated teams, Nondies are joined by Impala who were relegated from the top flight despite recording an emphatic 44-13 win over MMUST at the Impala Grounds.

Having tied on points with Kenya Harlequin who lost their game against Mwamba, Impala's relegation came as a result of head to head record that was used as a tiebreaker.

Quins defeated Impala 29-20 in their meeting, a result that was given precedence according to section 5c of Kenya Rugby Unions' rulebook and not the points differential
