Africa’s fastest man, Ferdinand Omanyala, will continue his mission of nurturing Kenya's next generation of sprinters after confirming the second edition of the Omanyala Sprints Camp will run from Tuesday, 14 July to Saturday, 22 August at the Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium.

The program, which is open to boys and girls aged between seven and 18 years, follows the successful inaugural edition held during the April school holidays. Training sessions will take place from 8:30 am to 10:30 am and are designed to offer far more than sprint drills.
The camp aims to equip young athletes with the technical, physical, and mental foundations needed to succeed in elite athletics.
Alongside sprint training, participants will receive education on nutrition, race preparation, recovery, and personal development, areas Omanyala believes are often overlooked in grassroots athletics.
For the Commonwealth Games defending champion, this initiative is the first step toward a structured pathway for young sprinters in Kenya to develop the program into an international sprinting hub.
"The idea of the Omanyala Sprints Camp has always been close to my heart. It has long been my dream to create a platform where young athletes can be trained and exposed to proper sprinting knowledge and technique,” Omanyala told Mozzart Sport.
Omanyala understands firsthand the challenges of pursuing sprinting in a country renowned for producing world-class middle- and long-distance runners.

Having climbed to the top of African sprinting without access to such development structures during his formative years, he is determined to ensure the next generation has opportunities that were unavailable to him.
The sprint sensation said interacting with children during the inaugural camp rekindled memories of his journey and strengthened his resolve to invest in young talent.
"Whenever I see young athletes who are passionate about sprinting and willing to take it seriously, it takes me back to my own journey. That is why it means so much to me to start them early, to give them someone they can look up to and a support system to guide them,” he offered.
The training environment will mirror the standards of professional athletics, exposing participants to the discipline, structure, and mindset required to compete at the highest level.
Beyond improving speed, the program seeks to build well-rounded athletes by introducing habits that underpin long-term success on and off the track.
