The lighthearted race featured plenty of laughter, banter, and playful jabs, thrilling fans who could not get enough of the clash between the Olympian and the viral sensation.
After crossing the finish line, both competitors exchanged humorous quips. Lyles leaned back and celebrated with playful nonchalance, joking, "Oh, look at that, I am jumping, just for fun, leaning back."
Meanwhile, a determined Speed insisted, "I won it! I won it, bro." Lyles, with a grin, replied, "I can pay for your doctor's appointment right now."
As Lyles prepared to collect his prize, Speed continued to demand a rematch, refusing to accept defeat. "You did not even win that; let’s go again!" he exclaimed.
However, Lyles simply replied, "I don’t do rematches."
When Speed asked Lyles to choose a charity for the $100,000 prize, Lyles shared that the funds would benefit his foundation, The Lyles Brothers Sports Foundation.
"I'd love for Speed to have it, but the kids I’m working for need it more," Lyles said, causing laughs from the present audience.
The playful rivalry continued with Speed urging Lyles to coach him, saying, "If I had technique, I could beat you. I’ve never run track a day in my life... raw speed, I’m faster than you."
Lyles, unphased, responded, "You tapped out with 30 meters to go. I was watching you, bro, because I had that time.”
Lyles even offered Speed a friendly proposition to train together, suggesting, "You should practice with me and then at the end of the week we’ll race again." Speed eagerly agreed, hopeful that with some tips, he could challenge Lyles in a "real man’s race."
