Kipchoge's final destination for the 2026 edition of the global tour is expected to be unveiled on March 13 next year as the marathon legend continues pursuing his vision of making the world, one continent at a time, a running world

Eliud Kipchoge will continue his ambitious mission to run a marathon on every continent when he lines up at the NB42K Porto Alegre Marathon in Brazil on Sunday, 12 July, marking the second stop of his global Eliud's Running World project.

The Brazilian race follows the successful launch of the initiative in Cape Town, South Africa, where Kipchoge was joined by his wife, Grace Sugutt. The couple is expected to once again take part in community activities together as the project continues its journey across the globe.

The two-year initiative blends elite competition with community outreach, cultural exchange, and philanthropy as the two-time Olympic marathon champion seeks to make running a universal tool for unity while ticking off all seven continents.

For Kipchoge, the stop in Brazil carries added significance. It marks a return to the country where he captured his first Olympic marathon gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, a victory that firmly established him as the dominant force in marathon running.

Now, nearly a decade later, he returns to reconnect with one of the world's most passionate running communities.

"Running is a universal language that speaks to hope, discipline, and unity. I am very excited to come to Brazil and experience the passion of the people of Porto Alegre. Every continent has its own spirit, and I look forward to sharing this journey with South America while inspiring people to believe that no human is limited,” Kipchoge said.

The NB42K Porto Alegre Marathon has rapidly grown into one of South America's premier road races, attracting elite athletes and thousands of recreational runners annually. Kipchoge's participation is expected to further elevate its international profile and cement its place among the world's leading marathon destinations.

Beyond racing, Eliud's Running World aims to leave a lasting impact in every city it visits. At each stop, Kipchoge will engage with local communities, participate in cultural activities, run alongside fans, and promote healthier lifestyles through the power of sport.

The initiative will also raise funds for the Eliud Kipchoge Foundation, supporting environmental conservation projects to combat climate change and expanding access to education in underserved communities.

The Brazil leg carries special emotional weight given the devastating floods that struck Porto Alegre in 2024, making the foundation's environmental focus particularly relevant.

Run Sports CEO Cláudio Soirefmann described Kipchoge's visit as a landmark moment for both the marathon and Brazilian athletics.

"Bringing Eliud Kipchoge to NB42K Porto Alegre is a historic milestone for our race and for Brazilian running. After everything our community has faced, this moment carries even deeper meaning. We are honored to be part of Eliud's Running World and proud to welcome the world to Porto Alegre,” he said.

Kipchoge's final destination for the 2026 edition of the global tour is expected to be unveiled on March 13 next year as the marathon legend continues pursuing his vision of making the world, one continent at a time, a running world.
