Six points would lift Daikyo above both Western Jaguars and Sikh Union and place them at the top of the standings, while any slip-up could leave the title race even more congested
Daikyo Heroes will have an opportunity to go up the summit of the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Men's Premier League standings, this weekend.
Having played two matches fewer than the current pace setters, Daikyo head into the weekend sitting fourth on 15 points, level with defending champions Warriors Hockey Club.

Further, the side is only two points behind joint leaders Western Jaguars and Sikh Union Nairobi, who both occupy the top of the standings on 17 points.
The title race is beginning to take shape after seven weeks of action, with little separating the leading contenders.
Western Jaguars remain top courtesy of a superior goal difference after collecting four points in their last outing, while Sikh Union continued their impressive campaign with a convincing 3-1 victory over Parklands Sports Club last weekend.
Warriors also returned to winning ways last weekend, recovering from a two-goal deficit to edge promoted GreenSharks 3-2 and move level on points with Daikyo, setting the stage for another crucial round of matches.
All eyes will therefore be on Daikyo Heroes, who begin their weekend away to USIU-A on Saturday, before taking on defending champions Warriors on Sunday in what could prove to be the headline fixture of the weekend.
Six points would lift Daikyo above both Western Jaguars and Sikh Union and place them at the top of the standings, while any slip-up could leave the title race even more congested.
Warriors, meanwhile, know victory over Daikyo would strengthen their own ambitions after an inconsistent opening to the defence of their crown.
Having already dropped points against Wazalendo, Kenya Police and Western Jaguars, the defending champions cannot afford another setback against one of their direct rivals.
The Women's Premier League also resumes with several important fixtures despite a number of postponements.
League leaders Blazers, unbeaten so far this season, were initially scheduled to face both defending champions Lakers and Kisumu Queens.

However, their fixture against Lakers has since been postponed, leaving Saturday's meeting with Kisumu Queens as their only assignment of the weekend.
Second-placed USIU-A Ladies will be looking to maintain pressure on the leaders when they host Amira Sailors.
Their scheduled clash against KU Ladies has also been postponed.
Defending champions Lakers will now have a lighter weekend after their postponed encounter with Blazers.
The Kisumu-based side have steadily climbed up the standings following consecutive positive results and remain firmly in the title conversation.
Elsewhere, Sliders host Kisumu Queens on Sunday in a fixture that could significantly influence the tightly contested middle section of the table.
Just a handful of points separate several clubs, meaning one victory could dramatically reshape the standings as teams continue searching for consistency.
The Men's Super League also offers another intriguing programme of matches following an entertaining opening fortnight.
Strathmore University Men, who have started brightly after relegation from the Premier League, welcome promoted Impala Club before Parkroad Badgers host them on Sunday.
Having registered consecutive victories last weekend, Strathmore will be keen to maintain their early momentum.
Impala face another demanding weekend as they take on Strathmore before travelling to KCA University, while Wazalendo Masters meet UoN Men on Saturday before facing GHF Blue Pirates on Sunday.
In the Women's Super League, Daystar University Ladies play Gorillas Ladies before Twinkle host them the following day, while Wazalendo Pearls play Gorillas Ladies.
National League action continues simultaneously across the regional conferences, as the newly admitted clubs continue adapting to league hockey.
Mombasa West, who enjoyed an encouraging start to the campaign, host Black Tigers before entertaining Parklands SC Legacy, while Gorillas face consecutive fixtures against Daystar University Men and UoN Cubs.
Elsewhere, Thika Rovers travel to Nyari in the Central Zone, MMU Men host Dukes, MSC Men welcome Parklands SC Legacy before hosting Black Tigers, while Nandi Hawks entertain Lakers Hockey Club Men in the Western Zone.
