The clash will serve as the curtain-raiser for Ingwe’s second annual Players’ Awards Gala, an initiative organised by the club’s vibrant U45 Unit Branch.

The day’s festivities will kick off with a schools’ exhibition match between Bukembe High School and Musingu High School.

Assistant coach Ken Wendo, who oversaw a light training session with the team in Bungoma, called on fans to turn up in large numbers for both the match and cultural showcase.

I urge our fans to come early and enjoy our cultural heritage. Let them come and enjoy football,” said Wendo.

This marks the second edition of the AFC Leopards Players’ Awards Gala, a celebration of football excellence and fan appreciation, designed to recognise standout performers on and off the pitch.

This is more than just a night of trophies, it’s about celebrating every heartbeat of this club, from our players to the fans in the stands,” said Olympia Musonye.

Chairperson of the AFC Leopards U45 Unit Branch. “We’ve designed a week that reflects the true spirit of Ingwe: passion, excellence, and community.”

The week-long celebration features community service activities, roadshows, youth football tournaments, cultural performances, and musical entertainment.

A five-member panel of respected football analysts and insiders will oversaw the nomination process in ten categories, including:

Most Valuable Player of the Season, Fans’ Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, Best Defender of the Season, Best Midfielder of the Season, Best Attacker of the Season and Best Goal of the Season

Others are Best Female Fan of the Season, Best Male Fan of the Season, and Best Branch of the Season.

Fan voting opened on July 17, giving Ingwe faithful a chance to participate in selecting their favourite players and contributors.

As part of the excitement, the club has also introduced the “10th Ticket” campaign, where every 10th ticket buyer earns VIP access to the gala night, including a rare opportunity to interact with players, technical staff, and club legends.
