The national games will be held in Kakamega county from 7-13 August.
Newly crowned Nyanza region soccer boys’ champions Agoro Sare High School has warned opponents to brace for fireworks at the National School Games set to begin on Tuesday 8th in Kakamega.
Agoro’s coach Fred Akuku who has lead the Homabay side to their first national tourney sent a stern warning to his opponents that they will be out to achieve their target of gracing the East Africa games to be held in Rwanda later this month.
Akuku was speaking at a luncheon hosted by Homabay County governor Gladys Wanga to fete the Nyanza Region Champions before departing for Kakamega.

Sare had a rough path to the title having to humble Kisumu County champions Kisumu Day 7-6 on post-match penalties after a barren draw in regular time and withstanding a court battle from the Nyanza Region regulars in order to book a slot at the coveted national stage.
“Proper planning and training has been our main secret and we are not stopping here because our target is Rwanda,” said Akuku in an occasion that saw the school team promised a cash token of 5,000 per player if they deliver the national gong.
Akuku further added that the boys have been sharpening various aspects of the game to further boost their chances of carrying the coveted title.
“We have been working on our striking pattern and our spot kicks, because in this competition if you are good in set pieces, then you can easily win the matches,” he offered
The youthful coach, however, noted that his troops will need to be at their par to deal with the pressure accompanied by playing at this level as it is a maiden appearance for his squad.
“The boys are under pressure to perform at the highest level though we are talking to them to make sure it doesn’t take a toll on them and ensure they enjoy these moments,” added the two-time Homabay county champion.
Despite that, he assured that his charges were ready to impress come next week as he banks on some of his players who have featured in National Super League (NSL) and FKF Division Two to lead his young talented troop to Rwanda
“The team is ready for the few days to come and play at the national level. Players have the plans that they are going to use their individual skills to perform,” he added.
Agoro Sare is grouped in Pool A where they are set to face North Eastern newbies Khorof Harar who are making a maiden appearance in the national championship as well as Western Region Champions Shanderema Secondary School and Kirangari from Central region.
Sare will kick start their hunt for the East Africa ball games on Tuesday 8th August against Kirangari Boys High School with the top two in each group advancing to the semi-finals.
The national games will be held in Kakamega county from August 7-13 in various fields in the county with Bukhungu Stadium and Kakamega High School Grounds hosting soccer Boys matches.
