Prinsloo 7s: Daring Leos confront KCB as Kabras, Oilers land kind draws in main cup quarters

The cup quarterfinalists at the Prinsloo 7s are now known following completion of pool play on match day 1 at the Nakuru Athletic Club.

Defending champions Menengai Oilers, hosts Nakuru and circuit leaders Kabras Sugar headline the quarterfinalists and they are joined by Homeboyz, KCB, Kenya Harlequin, Strathmore Leos and Mwamba.

Gibson Weru's Oilers, Felix Ayange's Kabras, Luois Kisia's Leos and Paul Murunga's Quins proceed to the main cup quarters as pool winners while the remaining four teams join the last eight courtesy of finishing in second place.

The action on Sunday will kick off with Kabras taking on hosts Nakuru in a match scheduled for 1020EAT.

While Kabras won all their three Pool A games, Nakuru managed one win, a draw and a defeat to take second place in Pool B.

The second quarter final clash will see Leos and KCB lock horns in one of the tasty encounters anticipated.

KCB will be hoping to dust themselves from a stunning 5-24 loss against Kenya Harlequin that condemned them to the second place position while Leos will be seeking to slay one giant as they seek to make it to a first cup final this season.

Prinsloo 7s: Quins stun KCB to finish top of Pool C

Defending champions Oilers are expected to break little sweat in overcoming a Homeboyz side blowing hot and cold after losing a majority of their squad.

A Ngong Road derby is on the card in the final quarter final pairing as Kenya Harlequin will face Mwamba.
