The management of Italian side Como will not stand in the way of the Spanish coach if he receives a potential offer to take charge of Blues
Como 1907 would not block Cesc Fabregas from leaving if the club’s head coach is tempted by a move to the Premier League with Chelsea, the club president has told City AM.
Fabregas — a former Chelsea midfielder who spent five seasons at the London club — is currently managing the Serie A side on the shores of Lake Como and has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace the recently dismissed Liam Rosenior at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking to City AM, Como president Mirwan Suwarso made it clear the club would not stand in the Spaniard’s way if he decided to depart.
“If that makes him happy, that’s him,” he said when asked about Fabregas, who also holds a minority stake in the club. You want your employees to stay with you for as long as possible but at the end of the day we don’t own him and he’s free to go to Chelsea if he wishes.”
Fabregas is believed to own around a one percent share in Como 1907 — a club that was competing in Italy’s fourth tier as recently as 2019 — alongside former Arsenal star Thierry Henry. Suwarso, who is linked to the Indonesian ownership group, also noted that Fabregas would be allowed to retain his shares provided he does not move to a direct Serie A rival.

“Business is business, ideas are ideas. We have to see things in a way that makes sense, right? It’s common sense.” He also remains closely involved with the club’s foundation work.
At Chelsea, Rosenior was dismissed this week after arriving from Strasbourg in January, following a 3-0 defeat to Brighton that extended a five-match goalless losing streak — the club’s worst in over a century.
Outgoing Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is also reportedly under consideration, while Fabregas joins a shortlist that includes former Chelsea figures Frank Lampard and Filipe Luis, as well as departing Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner.

Chelsea face Leeds United at Wembley in an FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, before finishing the Premier League season with four remaining fixtures.
Meanwhile, Fabregas’ Como were eliminated in the Coppa Italia semi-finals this week, but still have four league games left as they continue their push for an unprecedented Champions League qualification.
