After the Nigerian's arrival, Leverkusen decide to sell their attacker to the Premier League slot

As expected and reported by Mozzart Sport Kenya last night, Moussa Diaby has put a pen on paper to join Aston Villa. The 24-year-old French striker of Malian descent and his former side Bayer Leverkusen agreed on a deal with Villa worth £52m plus add-ons.

He has already joined up with his new teammates on the club's tour of the USA.

Diaby, who scored 14 goals and registered 11 assists across all competitions last season, had previously been of interest to Arsenal and Newcastle. He has ten senior France caps but was not part of the squad that reached the World Cup final in Qatar last year.

Having come up through the ranks at hometown club Paris Saint-Germain, Diaby moved to Leverkusen in 2019. Before switching to Villa Park, he scored 49 goals in 172 appearances for the Bundesliga side.
