This was the first time that the Patrick Odhiambo-coached side were taking participating in the continental competition
Kakamega Homeboyz have been bundled out of the CAF Confederation Cup after falling 4-1 to Libyan outfit Al Hilal Benghazi in the second leg of the first preliminary round.
The two sides had played to a barren draw in Nairobi just over a week ago, with Homeboyz failing to capitalize on the home advantage to take the lead in the fixture.
Nigerian 24-year-old Ifeanyi Eze opened the scoring for the hosts after just 12 minutes as they run riot in the second half with two more goals, one from Osama Beleid and another one from Eze as he completed his brace.
Towards the end of the first half, Homeboyz's long-serving player Moses Mudavadi pulled one back right at the death to see the Libyan side head into the break with a 3-1 lead.
The second half was tied, with Al Hilal Benghazi trying to tie down the spaces as Homeboyz sought for a goal that would have probably brought them back to the game.
However, it was not meant to be the case as Benghazi scored with three minutes left to the end of the game through Kelvin Andoh to make it 4-1 and make it to the next stage at the expense of the Kenyan side.
The Mozzart Bet Cup winners were Kenya's only representative at the continental stage after Gor were ousted from the CAF Champions League after failing on the club licensing
