Emily Moranga and Zaina Namuleme found the back of the net in the match played on Wednesday, 10 September at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Going into the match, Kenya Police Bullets needed just a draw to qualify to the semi finals, thanks to their head-to-head advantage.

Police took the lead in eighth minute when Namuleme sent in an enticing cross into the box that found Moranga, who guided the ball into the net.

Earlier on, Lydia Waganda had come close in breaking the deadlock but her long-range effort was well gathered.

Police found a free kick in the 12th minute after Mary Kilonzo was fouled, but Namuleme’s free kick was parried away for a corner that was wasted.

Police would have doubled their advantage minutes later, but lack of cutting edge in the final third saw them maintain their slim lead.

Denden were not entirely on the back foot, as they nearly levelled matters in the 24th minute when Simona Atsbaha spotted Annedy Kundu off her line.

However, her long shot flew off target much to the relieve of the experienced shot stopper.

Police doubled their lead in the 35th minute when Namuleme a cross from Margaret Kunihira for her first goal for the club at the competitive level.

Teenager Elizabeth Ochaka would have made it three two minutes later, but she slammed the ball against the woodwork from close range.

Odemba made two changes at half time, introducing Rebecca Odato and Sharon Vidah for the Ugandan duo Namuleme and Kunihira.

Denden were a much improved side at the start of the second half, limiting Police’s attacks and dominated in midfield play.
