According to Foot Mercato, William Saliba aggravated an already existing injury during the clash against Paris Saint-Germain last Saturday, casting doubt on his World Cup participation!
The same source states the 25-year-old is set to miss a few weeks, meaning that he could still be at Didier Deschamps' disposal, but only in the later stages of the tournament.
This information comes as a major concern for the whole France team, as Saliba was reportedly supposed to be a starting centre-back alongside Bayern Munich's Dayot Upamecano. Now, Les Blues' boss will have to seek other solutions and rely on one of the remaining central defenders - Ibrahima Konate, Maxence Lacroix, Lucas Hernandez, or Jules Kounde as a last resort.
France will open their World Cup campaign against Senegal on June 16. Six days later, they'll face Iraq, while the last match, scheduled for June 26, brings them the clash against Norway.
