If Tottenham chief Daniel Levy thought that things couldn’t get any worse, he was wrong. Sacking Jose Mourinho, loosing the Champions League place, opting for the Super League then opting out, still not been able to find a new manager, and dealing with best player’s transfer request...pretty bad for any football executive, yet alone a supremo of the Champions League finalist in 2019. But then came the first home game with fans.

The Spurs fans have not enjoyed this season, to say at least, but they didn’t made any boycott in front of the stadium, like Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal. Still, when around 10.000 fans turned for the home game with Aston Villa, emotions boiled. Spurs were playing awful, loosing 1-2, and the fans let their frustration be known by booing the team at half time and at the end of the game. With an interim manager Ryan Mason, Spurs won couple of games but this defeat will probably cost them even Europa League. Enough for any club’s fans to be frustrated.

Frustrated with the club's handling of key matters, anger spilled over as some supporters were reportedly told to wait inside the stadium for more than an hour as they waited for the players to acknowledge them. And as some individuals attempted to move further down towards the pitch, they were involved in a few scraps with stewards trying to keep them away.

And if that was not enough, the fans had to witness the lap of honor of their best player Harry Kane, who officially asked to be sold. The Spurs striker was greeted by the fans before the game, as supporters made their feelings towards their player clear. An enormous cheer greeted the Tottenham number 10 when the teams were read out before kick-off and 10,000 Spurs fans were barely a minute into the game before they launched into a chorus of their Kane song. Most of the player quickly exited the stadium after a defeat but Kane walked alone towards the South Stand and applauded. The fans returned the gesture. He continued around the pitch, alone. A few teammates trailed after him.

However, after the match, interim coach Ryan Mason denied this was Kane’s last leap with Spurs.

"It's normal. If anyone has been at the last home game of the season while Harry Kane has played at this football club, he has been pretty consistent in going around the pitch, clapping the fans and getting a good reaction," said Mason.

But the truth is, nothing is normal in Tottenham right now.
