Ochoro is yet to make top flight bow since joining club in September 2020

Budding Nairobi City Stars goalkeeper Elvis Ochoro has identified his ability to effectively communicate with the defence line as the area to improve before muscling for his league debut.

The youngster is yet to earn his first league start since joining Simba wa Nairobi in September 2020 from regional outfit Hakati Sportif.

Ochoro has had to content with life on the terraces or the substitutes technical bench as the City Stars bench has been preferring either Steve Njung’e or Jacob Osano in between the sticks.

Ochoro revealed that he had been advised to improve on his communication skills in a bid to be fully ready for league action, that he says he will be fully ready for from next season.

“I have been learning from the two other custodians who are always on top of their game. Through watching how they conduct themselves on the pitch on match days I have managed to asses myself and realized that I am still not good in communication. I am trying my best to improve on the aspect and hopefully I will have polished it before next season,” he said.

Meanwhile, the 20-year old shot stopper is happy to see his former teammates at Hakati flourishing in the league.

He disclosed that he had played with AFC Leopards duo of Lewis Bandi and Kayci Odhiambo at Hakati, an outfit that has earned fame and respect for churning out enterprising youngsters.

Both Bandi and Odhiambo have been phenomenal in the Leopards defence not only for their defensive skills but their ability to play free flowing football employed by coach Patrick Aussems.

I am happy to see my former teammates at Hakati doing good in the league and I pray that more players at the club will get the opportunity to play at the top flight,” he remarked.
