Injured Nairobi City Stars defensive midfielder Ronney Kola will wait for a further three months for his return to training and subsequent availability for competitive matches.

Kola suffered a knee injury last season while serving the defunct National Super League side Nairobi Stima on loan terms from Simba wa Nairobi. He joined the powermen on loan alongside Rowland Makati.

According to team physio Brian Odongo, Kola, who has been on a progressive recovery path, is now on his final journey, with rehabilitation in the final phase.

He will however miss the remainder of the season given the number of rounds remaining in the term that is in its final weeks.

“Kola sustained a knee injury sometimes back and so far he’s reporting a big improvement. He’s is still undergoing treatment and rehab and should be back in the field of play in 12 weeks,” He told the club’s website.

On his part, Kola who was acquired from Kenya School of Government (KSG) Ogopa in September 2020 on a long term deal says getting to the field of play tops his priority list.

The player who is impressed with the improvement in as far as shaking off the injury is concerned said he desperately wants to don the City Stars kit in league matches.

“I have been out for some months but the best part is there’s lots of improvement and now it’s down to rehab which is the final stage. I can’t wait to be back to the pitch to competitively kick a ball once again,” he was quoted on their website.
