CR7 is excited by Ten Hag's arrival - even if his future at Old Trafford isn't clear

The impending arrival of Erik Ten Hag to Manchester United's hot seat has ignited excitement and hope among the fanbase, but also among the players.

Cristiano Ronaldo spoke to Manchester United's official website and called for the outgoing Ajax tactician time to build the team to his liking in England.

"What I know about him is he did a fantastic job for Ajax, that he's an experienced coach. But we need to give him time. Things need to change the way he wants. I hope we have success, of course, because, if you have success, all of Manchester is going to have success as well. I wish him the best. We are happy and excited, not only as players, but the supporters as well. I wish him the best and let's believe that, next year, we are going to win trophies."

The veteran attacker got 18 league goals since his return to Old Trafford and is the club's leading goalscorer. His experience would be a valuable asset in Ten Hag's dressing room - but there are no guarantees that the pair would actually work together.

But the length of the contract won't matter much if the legendary superstar decides he'd like to leave.
