Dances with Wolves

The Bavarians might be ready to let the Brazilian go...

Douglas Costa is on a big decline. The Brazilian is not managing to find the form from the time when he played for Shakhtar or at least the level from his first term at Bayern. He was expected to burst again on his loan to Munich - because objectively, this type of player was what Hansi Flick needed - however, his role this season has been reduced to an episodic one. And not just because Flick doesn't give him a chance - after all, Costa played in every game in the Champions League - but because the Brazilian didn't use his chances.

For that reason, in recent weeks, there were talks of the possibility that the experienced winger might leave Munich this winter. The last club to be associated with Douglas Costa is Wolverhampton. The British Telegraph wrote about that possibility and announced that there might be a Juventus - Bayern - Wolves triangle deal.

Let us remind you, Douglas Costa is on loan at Bayern, and in order for that job to be realized, the club from Turin would have to pull him back first. It goes without saying, with the permission of the German club. Juve's interest exists because they would like to make a new arrangement for Costa, which would imply a later mandatory buyout, which is not the case with Bayern. Reason? The Old Lady does not want a player to return, who will burden the budget again with a salary of 6.500.000 euros.

There is also the interest from Bayern. Currently, the Germans are paying the mentioned 6.500.000 euros, and Flick allegedly announced to the management that Costa will not have substantial minutes in the spring and that Jamal Musiala will get more and more space and he can cover the position of the left winger. There is actually a double interest from Bayern because negotiations on a new contract for the young Englishman are currently underway. More minutes for Musiala would also mean an easing circumstance during those negotiations.

In the end, Bayern is planning a new attack on Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi, a guy they see as a long-term solution for the winger positions with Musiala...

Finally, there is the interest from the Wolves. With only 21 goals scored so far, Nuno Espirito Santo's team is one of the least dangerous in the Premier League. Yes, they are looking for an attacker at Molineaux, but they won't complain if they get their hands on a dangerous winger.

Now, whether the Premier League is the right place to revive a stumbled career is another question.
