The legendary English full-back is unhappy that the manager he had planned to work with has been shown the door by the club
Kieran Trippier's future at Wolves has already been thrown into doubt after the club's decision to part ways with Rob Edwards on Thursday.
Sources indicate the veteran defender is frustrated by the move and feels let down by the club, with Edwards' presence having played a major role in convincing him to make the switch to Molineux just days ago.
The dismissal has reportedly caused disappointment within the squad as well, with several players contacting the 43-year-old coach personally to voice their support. Trippier himself had recently interrupted a holiday in Turkey to complete his medical examinations and finalize the move.
Edwards had pushed strongly for the signing of the former England international, viewing his leadership and experience as valuable assets for the dressing room. The coach was equally keen on the arrival of Mexico striker Raul Jimenez, who completed his move this week before helping his national team defeat South Africa at the World Cup on Thursday.
Trippier turned down interest from multiple clubs after being persuaded by Edwards' vision and the role he was expected to play at Wolves. Although the deal has already been agreed, the defender is officially scheduled to join on July 1 when his contract with Newcastle expires.
The right-back's arrival at Newcastle from Atletico Madrid in early 2022 is widely regarded as a turning point in the club's rise under Eddie Howe. His influence both on and off the pitch helped establish new standards, and Edwards believed he could bring a similar impact to a Wolves side that endured a difficult campaign and finished at the foot of the Premier League table.

With the manager who recruited him now gone, Trippier is reassessing the situation and weighing up his next move.
Before committing to Wolves, the 35-year-old had attracted interest from elsewhere in the Premier League as well as overseas, with clubs from Saudi Arabia among those monitoring his situation.
