The FKF Cup was supposed to be played over this weekend according to initial plans but the tournament will not take place this year
The 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) will not be taking place this weekend after earlier scheduling arrangements by the Aaron Ringera-led FKF Caretaker Committee put in a two week break within the season during this time of the month.
Since the last full round of action played over last weekend 12-13 February 2022, the next full set of matches will be played on 26-27 February with Kariobangi Sharks hosting Nzoia Sugar in the first match to be played since the short break.
The league takes a two-week break.

Initially, the Football Kenya Federation Cup round of 32 matches were supposed to be played this coming weekend but due to the tournament failing to secure a sponsor according to the caretaker committee, there is no tournament.
Currently, all the teams in the league have played eighteen matches barring Sofapaka and Ulinzi Stars who are the only two teams to have played a game less. Gor Mahia and Vihiga Bullets are also on seventeen games still since their 18th match of the campaign was brought to an immature end due to fan-steward clashes that forced the game to be abandoned half way through with the fate of that game yet to be determined.
As things stand, it is Bernard Mwalala’s Kakamega Homeboyz who enjoy a five point buffer at the top of the log where they sit on 37 points. Nicholas Muyoti’s are second on the log on 32 points, Kariobangi Sharks in third, just one point behind, with Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno’s KCB closing the top four on the same 31 points.
Record Kenya champions Gor and reigning champions Tusker are in fifth on sixth respectively tied on 30 points.
