Goal-line clearance worth of EPL title? Arsenal owe drink to Forest defender

The Cityzens had a colossal chance to grab three points against the Trees in the final seconds of the game, but the Brazilian centre-back Murillo put up the bar

Last night, Arsenal might have gained a crucial edge over Manchester City, thanks to their 1-0 win over Brighton and Manchester City's 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest.

However, the spoils at Etihad wouldn't have been spoiled, if there weren't for one man - the Trees centre-back Murillo.

While Arsenal were getting the job done in added time at Amex Stadium, the Cityzens laid siege to the opponents' goal in desperate pursuit of the vital winner.

And they got a chance to grab the three points at the nick of time.

Bernardo Silva received a fantastic pass from Antoine Semenyo in Forest's box and tried to shoot, but the visitors' defenders and custodian Matz Sels denied the Portuguese a shot. The ball rebounded to Savinho, who managed to fire it toward the empty goal in the whole melee in the area.

The entire Etihad saw the ball in the net and 3-2 for Man City on the scoreboard, but then Murillo appeared out of nowhere and deprived the Brazilian of becoming the Cityzens' hero with a magnificent goal-line clearance.

Seconds later, the referee Darren England blew the final whistle, and the celebration both in Nottingham and North London could begin.

If the Gunners indeed win the Premier League trophy after 22 years, this iconic moment will be one of the reasons, just like Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres' goals, Declan Rice's assists, and David Raya's saves, while Murillo will probably have a free drink in every North London pub.
