Gor Mahia have announced a gate collection of Ksh 5,451,000 from Sunday's FKF Premier League season finale against Nairobi United, a match that also served as the club’s coronation after securing a record-extending 22nd league title.

According to a statement released by the club, a total of 17,487 tickets were sold for the match, making it one of Gor Mahia’s highest-attended fixtures of the season.

The figure was only surpassed by the first-leg Mashemeji Derby against AFC Leopards, which generated more than Ksh 7 million in gate revenue.

Club treasurer Gerphas Okuku thanked supporters for turning up in large numbers to celebrate the team's latest league triumph.

“We want to thank our fans for the amazing turnout for the coronation game. We also extend our deepest gratitude to our ticketing partners for their excellent work throughout the season. Their commitment and transparency have been key to our progress in ticketing and revenue collection,” said Okuku.

On the pitch, Gor Mahia suffered a 1-0 defeat to Nairobi United.

Enock Machaka’s first-half header proved decisive as the debutants signed off the season with a memorable victory over the champions.

The defeat did little to dampen the mood among K’Ogalo supporters, who had already begun celebrating after the club wrapped up the title race.

Festivities started inside Nyayo Stadium before spilling into Nairobi’s Central Business District, where jubilant fans partied late into the night.

Winning the league earns Gor Mahia Ksh15 million in prize money, the highest champions' reward in FKF Premier League history.

The title also secures the club a place in next season’s CAF Champions League, where they will begin their continental campaign in the preliminary rounds.

Kenya’s representative in the CAF Confederation Cup will be determined in a fortnight when Tusker FC and Kenya Police FC face off in the Mozzart Bet Cup final in Kwale.
