The eagerly anticipated encounter will be staged at Gusii County Grounds, with Gor Mahia travelling to face the Kisii-based side in a fixture that has drawn massive interest from fans across the country.
Speaking during a joint pre-match press briefing on Saturday, 10 January, Ngala called on supporters from both camps to prioritise peace and come to the stadium with the sole intention of enjoying football.
The briefing brought together officials from Gor Mahia and Shabana, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) representatives, security agencies, stakeholders and sponsors.
Ngala welcomed the security arrangements put in place for the fixture, saying organisers had taken adequate measures to ensure the safety of fans and teams.
“We have participated in a thorough inspection of the facility, and we are convinced that the stadium is ready. Everything is in place for a good and safe game,” Ngala said.
He also sought to reassure Gor Mahia supporters who had expressed concerns about attending the match following its relocation to Gusii.
“My message to Gor Mahia fans, especially those who had not planned to watch the game, is simple: make plans and come,” he urged.
“Please adhere to the instructions provided, respect fan segregation and follow the set checkpoints.”
Ngala further encouraged supporters to arrive early, observe seating arrangements and remain within their designated sections throughout the match.
“Gor Mahia fans will occupy the right side of the stadium from the VIP section. Regular fans will sit in stands G12 and G13, accessing the stadium through gates I and A. VIP fans will enter through gate K,” he confirmed.
“We welcome everyone to enjoy the game. We are brothers, and we hope for a peaceful and exciting match for all,” he added.
Earlier, in an update released on Wednesday, 7 January, FKF urged fans to purchase their tickets early, noting that sales would strictly close at noon on match day. Kick-off is scheduled for 3:00 pm, with ticket sales beginning at 6:00 am.
“Supporters are encouraged to arrive early, follow the guidance of stewards and security personnel, and observe proper conduct before, during and after the match,” FKF said in part of its statement.
To ease congestion, ticket sales points have been designated based on team allegiance.
Gor Mahia fans will purchase tickets at Nyanchwa Junction near Gospel Embassy and Nyanchwa Bridge, while Shabana supporters will buy theirs at the Huduma Centre Grounds.
VIP and VVIP tickets will be sold at Hema Junction near AIC Academy.
FKF also confirmed ticket allocation details, with Shabana receiving the majority as the home side. Of the 7,500 regular tickets, Shabana has been allocated 6,500, while Gor Mahia will receive 1,500.
For VIP tickets, 3,200 have gone to Shabana and 1,000 to Gor Mahia, while VVIP tickets have been split 200 for Shabana and 100 for Gor Mahia.
Seating arrangements have also been clearly outlined to minimise the risk of confrontation.
Shabana fans will occupy stands G1 to G10, while Gor Mahia supporters will be seated in G12 and G13. A buffer zone between G11 and G12 will separate the two sets of supporters as part of enhanced safety measures.
