In a statement released on the club's official website, Leicester City announced that nine promising academy players, including Otieno, had committed their futures to the former Premier League champions ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The latest development marks another significant milestone in the career of the 20-year-old, who has steadily progressed through the ranks since joining Leicester City in September 2023.
Otieno enjoyed a breakthrough period with the club that culminated in his senior team debut on August 23, 2025, underlining the faith Leicester have placed in his abilities.
The Kenyan youngster also gained valuable first-team experience during the 2025/26 season after spending time on loan at League One side Wigan Athletic.
While Leicester City did not disclose the duration or specific terms of Otieno's new deal, the club confirmed that the midfielder had agreed to extend his stay at the King Power Stadium.
In the statement, Leicester highlighted Otieno among a list of academy graduates and emerging talents who have earned new contracts following impressive performances during the season.
"Talented young winger Silko Thomas, 20, who this season enjoyed a loan spell in League One with Wigan Athletic, has also extended terms," the club stated.
Otieno's football journey has been one of steady development. Born to a Kenyan father and a Jamaican mother, the versatile midfielder began his football education at Carshalton Athletic before earning a move to Chelsea's renowned academy setup.
During his time at Chelsea, he honed his technical abilities and gained valuable experience within one of England's most respected youth development systems.
Seeking further opportunities for growth, he joined Leicester City's Under-21 side in 2023 and has since continued his upward trajectory.
His performances at the youth level and subsequent exposure to senior football have seen him emerge as one of Kenya's most promising young talents based abroad.
The contract extension represents a significant vote of confidence from Leicester City as they prepare for a new chapter following a difficult campaign that ended in relegation.
The Foxes are now focused on rebuilding and mounting a return to the Championship and ultimately the Premier League.
