Harambee Stars striker lands two accolades in Zambian Super League Award ceremony

MTN Super League champions Power Dynamos capped off a remarkable 2025/26 campaign by emerging as the biggest winners at the MTN FAZ Gala, collecting five major awards in recognition of their outstanding season.

Leading the haul was Kenyan international Moses Shumah, who walked away with two individual accolades after a stellar debut season in Zambia.
The Harambee Stars striker was named Fans’ Player of the Season, and also claimed the Golden Boot award after finishing as the league’s top scorer with an impressive 21 goals.
Shumah’s goals played a crucial role in Power Dynamos’ successful title charge, with the forward consistently delivering in key matches throughout the campaign. His impressive scoring exploits helped Power maintain their position at the top of the table during a fiercely contested title race, and established him as one of the most feared forwards in the league.
The 21-goal haul has not gone unnoticed beyond Zambia’s borders, with the Kenyan striker reportedly attracting interest from clubs in both North and South Africa ahead of the upcoming transfer window. His performances for Power Dynamos and his growing profile with the Kenyan national team have made him one of the region’s most sought-after attacking talents.
Power Dynamos’ dominance at the gala extended beyond the pitch, with head coach Osward Mutapa earning the Coach of the Season award after guiding the Kitwe-based side to league glory.
Under Mutapa’s leadership, Power produced one of the most consistent campaigns in the league, finishing the season at the summit of the standings with 71 points.
Defender Frederick Mulambia was recognised for his professionalism and discipline after being named the Most Disciplined Player of the Season. The award highlighted his consistency and leadership at the back throughout the title-winning campaign.
The club’s supporters were also honoured on the night, with Kennedy Chishala receiving the Fan of the Season award, underlining the strong backing Power Dynamos enjoyed during their successful run.
The awards capped a memorable season for the Aba Yellow, who not only secured the MTN Super League title but also produced some of the league’s most memorable performances. Their consistency, attacking prowess and defensive solidity saw them finish as deserving champions, while Shumah’s emergence as the league’s leading scorer provided one of the standout stories of the campaign.
With five awards collected on the night and a league trophy already secured, Power Dynamos once again underlined their status as the dominant force in Zambian football this season. The club will now look to build on that success, although keeping hold of their star striker could prove to be one of their biggest challenges in the months ahead.
