Humphrey Aroko opens up on early life in Sweden after joining Rosengaard

Rising Stars midfielder Humphrey Aroko has broken his silence after sealing a move to Swedish side FC Rosengård 1917, speaking about his first impressions of his new club.

Aroko completed a season-long loan move to the Malmö-based outfit from FKF Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks, where he had established himself as a key player.

After completing the move, the Highway Secondary School alumnus sat down with the club's media team and opened up about his early days at the club.

“Here in Rosengård, people are friendly, and it is a good team and a good family. I have been welcomed well, and I am so happy. I cannot wait to get started,” said Aroko.

Aroko also described his playing style and what the club's supporters should expect from him.

“I am a midfielder. I play as a number 10; I can play on the left wing, and I am good with the ball. I'm also good at scoring goals.”

Despite sealing his dream move to Europe, Aroko, who was part of the Rising Stars squad that competed at the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), acknowledged the hard work that lies ahead.

“Joining FC Rosengård 1917 is an honour, but being here is about hard work. I will contribute energy, commitment, and my best football on the pitch,” he remarked.

Rosengård also issued a warm welcome to Aroko, who is expected to add attacking quality to the team.

“The 18-year-old midfielder joins from Kenyan club Kariobangi Sharks FC and most recently played for Kenya's U20 national team. Humphrey is a central midfielder with great potential, good vision, and an exciting development curve. The loan spans over 12 months. We welcome Humphrey to FC Rosengård 1917!” the club stated.

The 18-year-old, who attended several trials in Europe over the last two years, will now be hoping to launch what promises to be a successful and rewarding professional football career.
