Ibrahim Joshua delighted to top goal charts at Tusker

Tusker FC foward Ibrahim Joshua has expressed his personal delight after finishing as the club top scorer in the just concluded 2021/2022 Football Kenya Federation Premier League campaign.

Despite playing in his first season in Kenya, the Tanzanian import, who was signed from Keita Gold before the start of the season, finished top of the scoring charts at the Robert Matano coached side after bagging 11 goals during the entire campaign.

That double digit tally proved enough to clinch the personal accolade that left the marksman elated with his first season performance in a foreign land.

"I am glad that I managed to get this individual award during the first season with my new team. It makese happy that managed to do it but all the credit goes to my teammates who made it possible. Without them, I would not have made it," the player told Mozzart Sport.

Having finished third in the Golden Boot race behind KCB's Derrick Otanga (16) and Kenya Police's Clifton Miheso who notched 15 goals, Joshua has shifted his focus to landing himself at the top of the pile in his next season in the country.

"My target was to become the top scorer. Unfortunately that was not possible. I will take what I managed but I promise to go again next season," he added.

The player had a successful first season in Kenya, bagging two titles to his name - the Premier League title and the FKF Super Cup - on top of earning his very first call up to the Tanzanian national football side, Taifa Stars.
