Despite resuming training on Tuesday, Football Kenya Federation Premier League debutants Kenya Police will have to do without the services of right back, Erick Juma in the remainder of the season.

Juma suffered a devastating groin injury while in action against FC Talanta early in April and was set to contest for playing time in the final rounds of the season after the medics recommend six weeks of rest.

However, the versatile player who can also slot in the midfield says his hopes of kicking the ball at the competitive level again this season have died given the report from the medics who watched him jog for the first time on Tuesday.

Juma said the pain experienced during the light training session he had on Tuesday left the medical wing of the club convinced that his season was over.

"Sadly, I will not be able to play at the competitive level again this season. I began light training yesterday but I was in pain throughout the session. The club doctor says I will be out for more weeks which means that my term is over," he said.

Juma joined the law enforcers who spend heavily in the transfer windows in January from Kariobangi Sharks, a club he had served for close to two decades.

In his absence, Police who who are within a touching distance to the top ten bracket will continue to rely on Cornelius Lusaka to execute the right back roles.

Lusaka, who clinched the 'Golden Boot' in last season's National Super League has successfully transitioned into defending as he helped the Police solve the full back challenge experienced early in the season.
