Kenyan born Hashim Ali Abdulatif who plies his trade for Al Sadd in the Qatar Stars League has been named in the under 23 Qatar national squad. The Qatar U23 national team coach Nicholas Cordova released the 33-man squad that will be in a two-week preparatory camp for the U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers scheduled to be played later on in October 2021 in Thailand. The camp is set to include two friendly games aginst Kosovo which will be played on 27th and 29th March.
The 20 year old was born and raised in Mombasa before relocating to Qatar to join his parents. He joined the Al Sadd senior team, coached by Barcelona legend Xavi, in 2019 from Al Arabi but was part of the Al Sadd Academy through his formative years. He is a graduate of the famous Aspire Academy in Qatar and had a short stint at the Hoffenheim Academy in Germany. The midfielder has previously represented the Qatar national team across several junior levels (U19, U20, U23).
The young midfielder has enjoyed a fine campaign this season having already collected three titles in the campaign.He has lifted the Qatar Stars League trophy after Al Sadd were crowned champions and the Prince Cup as well as the Qatar Cup. The player is also well on course to win a fourth trophy as Al Sadd is in the semifinal of the Emir Cup.
