Fresh from his heroics over the weekend, where he scored a stoppage-time winner against Marine to send Wealdstone into the FA Trophy final, Obiero was again at the heart of everything, netting three goals inside 21 minutes in a dominant display.
Wealdstone came into the match on a poor run, having lost their last three National League games without scoring, while Hartlepool had won their previous three. But the hosts turned the script on its head early, with Obiero opening the scoring in the fourth minute from a tight angle.
Dylan Kadji quickly doubled the lead from an Anthony Georgiou delivery before Obiero struck twice in quick succession. He first reacted fastest to a rebound in the 22nd minute, then completed his hat trick three minutes later after rounding goalkeeper Nick Hayes and calmly finishing into an empty net.
The hosts were relentless and went into the break five goals up, with Georgiou adding another after Hayes could only parry Nathan Tshikuna’s effort.
Hartlepool made five changes at halftime, but it did little to stem the tide. Enzio Boldewijn's deflected effort in the 70th minute and substitute Olufela Olomola's late goal sealed the emphatic win.
The result was particularly remarkable as Wealdstone had failed to beat Hartlepool in their previous seven meetings.
Micah Obiero is the younger brother of Harambee Stars midfielder Zech Obiero, who recently scored his first international goal for Kenya against Grenada.
