What has possessed Napoli's media team to mock their own player?
Are they crazy or what?! Napoli's social media officer will have to answer many inconvenient questions after the club's official TikTok channel published a video in which they apparently made fun of their star player, Victor Osimhen.
Dear @sscnapoli, your admin is on TikTok trolling your own Player, Victor Osimhen for missing a Penalty.

Is this how you repay a Player who fought hard on the field to end your 33 years of waiting for a League title?? pic.twitter.com/33TlWkEwtg
The Nigerian hitman has already gone more than three games without scoring, and his recent performances showed this lack of form. As he was replaced during the weekend match against Bologna, he showed annoyance to anyone who approached him. It was a particularly forgettable night for Osimhen as he failed to convert a penalty kick, a miss that could have given the defending champions three valuable points.
For some inexplicable reason, the reigning champions of Italy's media team thought it would be funny to post a video of the missed penalty in which the Nigerian is initially seen appealing to the referee, with the words "Gimme the penalty" added to the video. They also put in the sound of a mocking laugh to complete the idiotic posting.
This video did not sit well with Nigerians, who perceived it as an act of ingratitude towards their compatriot, who played a pivotal role in securing Napoli's first league title last season after a 33-year wait.
@molatsportgist Insane now-deleted viral video posted by the official Napoli TikTok account to mock Osimhen for his penalty miss. 🙄 Thoughts? 👇🏽👇🏽 #molatsportgist #footballtiktok #africanfootball #victorosimhen #napoli #seriea

After a worldwide outrage, the video has been removed from the club's TikTok page, but the damage's already been done. The question has to be asked: who in their right mind would think of posting such a video, especially with Rudi Garcia's team struggling to rekindle the form they were showing a year ago?
